At this point, the project has developed an interactive, user-friendly website which houses the Signposts reporting frameworks and provides the first (of six) publicly released industry profiles that are populated with up-to-date information.

This report is the first attempt to use the website and industry profile to conduct an analysis of ESD contributions. The analysis begins with assessing ESD contributions from the agriculture industry as a whole. It then narrows its focus to one specific industry — the grains industry. The grains industry analysis is an attempt to provide a ‘template’ for using the Signposts profiles to assess an industry’s contribution to ESD. The template is just a starting point and will evolve as the Signposts framework and data for populating industry profiles are refined over time.

The next stage of Signposts (Stage 4) will use the results of this pilot report to inform the design and content of the summary reports on 6 industries (grains, beef, dairy, horticulture and 2 other industries to be identified).
